Nigeria to Host 2026 WAFU B African Schools Championship

Nigeria has been selected to host the 2026 African Schools Championship for the U-15 category following the release of the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B) calendar for the remainder of the year.

According to the schedule unveiled by the regional football body, the tournament will take place from December 6 to December 9, 2026.

The competition is expected to feature some of the brightest young football talents from countries within the WAFU B region as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots football development across West Africa.

Nigeria’s hosting rights for the championship further underline the country’s growing reputation as a destination for major football competitions within the region.

The tournament is also expected to provide a valuable platform for youth development, talent identification, and regional football integration.

Further details regarding the host city, participating nations, and match venues are expected to be announced by WAFU B and the Nigeria Football Federation in the coming months.
