Chippa United captain Stanley Nwabali confident of relegation survival

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Chippa United captain Stanley Nwabali has assured fans that the club is not giving up on its bid for survival, despite their ongoing struggles at the foot of the Betway Premiership table.

While the season has been challenging, with the Chilli Boys currently sitting in the relegation zone, Nwabali remains optimistic about the team’s ability to turn things around and avoid relegation.

“It’s been a tough season, but we are not panicking,” Nwabali said.

“What we’re experiencing is something that happens in football. It’s not something that has never happened before. Sometimes, a season starts badly, but that doesn’t mean it’s over. We have the ability to get better, and I’m confident we will.”

Chippa United have endured a turbulent campaign, parting ways with three different coaches this season.

Vusumuzi Vilakazi has now taken charge, tasked with stabilizing the squad and steering them away from the relegation zone.

Nwabali expressed faith in the new coach’s leadership, emphasizing that the team’s unity, focus, and determination will be key to their survival.

“We are all united and committed to turning things around,” he continued. “With the right mindset, we believe we can overcome these challenges and stay in the top flight.”

Looking ahead, Chippa United faces a challenging schedule with two crucial matches before the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) break.

The Chilli Boys will square off against Soweto giants Orlando Pirates on November 25, followed by a clash with Kaizer Chiefs on December 3.

These high-profile fixtures will be vital for Chippa’s survival hopes as they look to build momentum and lift themselves out of the relegation zone.
