2019 Super Falcons’ Women’s World Cup captain welcomes baby boy

Former Nigeria’s senior women’s national team striker and ex-captain Desire Oparanozie has welcomed a beautiful new baby boy into her family, marking a heartwarming new milestone in her life.

The retired Nigerian football star, celebrated for her courage, leadership, and memorable goals for both club and country, is now basking in the pure joy of motherhood.

Though Oparanozie hung up her boots after an illustrious career, she has just celebrated one of the most meaningful victories of all — the precious blessing of a newborn child.

Her transition from the football pitch to nurturing motherhood continues to inspire fans who admire her strength both on and off the field.

The news has sparked excitement and congratulatory messages from supporters, teammates, and football lovers around the world as Oparanozie begins this beautiful new chapter with her family.

The baby arrived two year after the her retirement from football as she scored 33 goals in 49 games for Nigeria. A four time Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) winner, the former Delta Queens player won Africa’s biggest contienental title in 2010, 2014, 2016, and 2018.

Oparanozie was the first Super Falcons player to feature in the German Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg in 2013 and in the French women’s top flight with Guingamp  a year later.
