Payne then turned provider in the 72nd minute, setting up Latka Snoeijs for the second goal.

Just two minutes later, Snoeijs returned the favour, assisting Payne as the Super Falcons midfielder finished clinically to extend the advantage to 3–0.

Beth Lumsden pulled one back for Newcastle in the 79th minute, but it was not enough to spark a comeback.

Payne completed the full match, putting in an influential display for Brian Sørensen’s side.

The win lifts Everton to second place in Group A of the English League Cup with five points from three matches, three points behind leaders Manchester City.

The Toffees will return to league action on December 7, 2025, when they face Chelsea in the Women’s Super League after the international break.
