Nasarawa Amazons coach Christopher Danjuma has urged his side to raise their performance levels despite opening their Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership campaign with a 2-1 victory over Delta Queens in Lafia on Wednesday.
Olushola Shobowale and Ayatsea Hembafan scored for the hosts, while Nora Davies pulled one back for Delta Queens.
“We are happy for the three points, starting on a good note is crucial, but we have much work ahead,” Danjuma told Nasarawa Amazons media.
“We need to blend the team better to meet the standards we previously set. Looking ahead, our objective is to focus on scoring, especially with two away matches ahead of us.
:I expect nothing less than four points from these games. Delta Queens proved to be better than we anticipated based on our preseason encounter.”
The victory provides a positive start, but Danjuma insists the team must continue improving to challenge effectively on all fronts this season.
