Akor Adams’ Penalty Completes Sevilla Comeback Against Athletic Club

Akor Adams maintained his impressive run of form, scoring his sixth league goal of the season to inspire Sevilla to a thrilling 2–1 comeback victory over Athletic Club.

Athletic took the lead in the first half through Robert Navarro, but Sevilla responded immediately after the restart as Peque drew the hosts level.

The Super Eagles striker then stepped up to calmly convert a second-half penalty from 12 yards, completing Sevilla’s turnaround after an early setback.

Since returning from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Adams has been in scintillating form, netting three goals in just two league matches. His sharp finishing, composure under pressure, and growing influence have been key to Sevilla’s attacking resurgence.

Adams’ pace, intelligent movement, and ability to occupy defenders continue to make him a constant threat in the final third.

Following the result, Sevilla sit 11th on the La Liga table with 24 points from 21 matches, level on points with Athletic Bilbao.
