Malawi Step Up WAFCON 2026 Preparations With Tanzania Mini-Tournament Ahead of Super Falcons Clash

Malawi’s women’s national team will participate in a mini-tournament in Tanzania as part of preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations ahead of their group-stage meeting with Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

The Malawian side have been drawn in a challenging group alongside Nigeria, Egypt and Zambia for the continental tournament and are intensifying efforts to ensure they are fully prepared for the competition.

The mini-tournament in Tanzania is expected to provide valuable competitive matches for the team as they continue their build-up to WAFCON 2026.

During the competition, Malawi will face Ghana and hosts Tanzania in a series of friendly fixtures designed to assess the squad’s readiness and improve team chemistry before the start of the tournament.

The preparatory matches are also expected to help the coaching crew fine-tune tactics, strengthen squad cohesion and build confidence ahead of difficult group-stage encounters against some of Africa’s strongest women’s football nations, including nine-time champions Nigeria.
