Emmanuel Michael: Nigerian left-back joins Admira Wacker on loan from LASK

Admira Wacker have signed Nigerian defender Emmanuel Michael on loan from Austrian champions LASK for the 2026-27 season. The 20-year-old left-back moves to the 2. Liga side with a deal running until 30 June 2027, giving him a full campaign to establish himself in the club’s back line.
Michael heads to Admira after breaking into senior football with LASK, where he was part of the squad that secured the Austrian league and cup double in the 2025-26 season. He made eight Bundesliga appearances for the Linz club, as well as featuring in the OFB-Cup and Regional League Central, building experience across domestic competitions.
A left-footer who operates primarily at left-back, Michael arrives with a market value of €500,000 and further minutes in Austrian football already behind him. Across league and cup competitions, he has accumulated game time in both top-flight and regional action, including over 100 minutes in the OFB-Cup where he registered an assist.
Before joining LASK in January 2025, Michael played for Amateure OO following a move from Simoiben FC, having previously featured on loan for Gombe United in the Nigerian Professional Football League, where he scored once in six appearances. His pathway from Nigeria to Austria has seen him progress steadily through different levels of the game.
Michael’s loan will see him remain contracted to Admira Wacker until the end of June 2027, after which he is scheduled to return to LASK at the conclusion of the agreement.
