Official: Nigeria striker Rafiu Durosinmi joins Belgian giants Genk on long-term deal

Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk have completed the signing of Super Eagles striker Rafiu Durosinmi from Italian club Pisa SC, the club confirmed in a statement on its official website.
The 23-year-old Nigerian forward has signed a four-year contract that will keep him at the Cegeka Arena until June 2030 as Genk strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Durosinmi arrives in Belgium after a brief spell with Pisa, having previously built his reputation as one of the Czech league’s most prolific strikers during his time with FC Viktoria Plzeň.
The powerful centre-forward enjoyed an impressive stint at Plzeň, scoring 35 goals and registering 10 assists in 86 appearances across all competitions while featuring regularly in domestic and European matches.
His consistent performances attracted interest from clubs across Europe and eventually earned him a move to Italy before Genk secured his signature this summer.
A product of the Czech football system after leaving Nigeria, Durosinmi first made his mark with Karviná before establishing himself as one of Viktoria Plzeň’s most dangerous attacking players.
Renowned for his physical presence, aerial ability, movement and clinical finishing, the Super Eagles striker has developed into a complete centre-forward capable of leading the line and troubling opposition defences.
Genk, a club renowned for nurturing top talents before launching them onto Europe’s biggest stages, will hope Durosinmi can continue his impressive goalscoring form in the Belgian Pro League.
His arrival adds further firepower to Genk’s attack as the club prepares to challenge for domestic honours and compete in European competition during the 2026/27 season.
Durosinmi will now look to make an immediate impact at the Cegeka Arena while strengthening his claim for a regular place in Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles squad.
