Osimhen set for Galatasaray return against Kasımpasa

Victor Osimhen is expected to make his return from injury when Galatasaray face Kasımpasa on 9 October.
The fit-again Super Eagles striker is likely to be given at least 30 minutes in the Turkish Super Lig fixture, according to SabahSports.
Osimhen has been out since suffering a groin injury during Galatasaray’s league match against Istanbul Basaksehir in September. His return will provide a boost ahead of the club’s UEFA Champions League fixture against Barcelona, for which he is also expected to be named in the starting 11.
The Nigeria international’s planned appearance against Kasımpasa will mark his first competitive action since being sidelined.
Osimhen has also been recognised for his performances in the opening six weeks of the Trendyol Super Lig. Turkish football data application OptaCan ranked him as the player who had the ball most often in the opposition penalty area during that period.
He recorded 44 such touches, placing him ahead of Mason Greenwood and Mohamed Salah, who each had 36. Leandro Trossard was next with 30.
Galatasaray will therefore manage Osimhen’s minutes carefully as he returns to full fitness, with the Kasımpasa match providing his first opportunity to regain match sharpness before the meeting with Barcelona.
