Fermin Lopez and Gavi send defiant messages after Barcelona’s Real Madrid defeat

Barcelona midfielders Fermin Lopez and Gavi have urged supporters to continue believing in the team after the club’s defeat by Real Madrid in El Clasico.

The pair used messages to reaffirm their commitment to Barcelona and their confidence that the team can recover from a difficult period, with the season still continuing and plenty of football remaining.

Fermin Lopez wrote to the club’s supporters: “Today, more than ever, long live Barcelona! Trust this team, Barcelona fans. The journey is still long, and everything will return to its place.”

Gavi expressed a similar determination to remain alongside his team-mates and continue fighting for the club. He posted: “This is a long journey! I am with my team until the end, always!”

The messages came in the aftermath of Barcelona’s loss to Real Madrid, with both players seeking to offer reassurance and show that their commitment to the club remains unchanged despite the result.

Fermin’s statement also underlined his intention to stand with his team-mates as Barcelona attempt to regain confidence and focus for the remainder of their campaigns in different competitions.

Although the effects of the defeat are still being felt, the midfielders’ responses made clear that they believe Barcelona can recover and return strongly to the competition. Their comments also emphasised that the players’ connection with the club does not depend on a temporary downturn in results.

Barcelona’s next listed La Liga fixture is against Deportivo Alaves on 31 October 2026.

Another La Liga fixture listed for 01 November 2026 is Racing Santander against Real Madrid.

The upcoming schedule leaves Barcelona with the opportunity to respond on the pitch, while Fermin Lopez and Gavi have offered public backing for the team after a painful night against their biggest rivals.
