FIFA U17 World Cup winner Okwonkwo banned

Twenty-four year-old Nigerian attacker Orji Okwonkwo has been handed a prolonged ban by FIFA for a failed dope check.

Okwonkwo, who performed for Italian aspect Bologna, was slapped with a four-year ban along with the Italian Anti-doping company’s sanction of the participant.

In a doc by FIFA and signed by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee Chairperson, Jorge Ivan Palacio wrote the NFF, stating:

Consequently, the Committee determined to increase the sanction imposed on the participant by the Italian NADO on 20 June 2022.

Extra particularly, the participant is sanctioned with a 4 (4) years suspension from all football-related actions in accordance with the Resolution.

 

Okwonkwo, a former FIFA U17 World Cup winner, final performed aggressive soccer in January 2022, away on mortgage at Serie B aspect AS Cittadella.

The four-year ban is in impact from twenty fifth February, 2022, till twenty fourth February, 2026.
