Ademola Lookman lone strike helps Atalanta to go joint top of Serie A

Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman scored the decisive winner to earn Atalanta a 1-0 win in the Italia Serie A match against Fiorentina on Sunday.
The Nigerian forward who has been in fine form for Atalanta since joining ‘The Goddess’ in the summer from Leicester City, continues his rich vien of strength.
The frenetic encounter played at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo saw Atalanta laboured for most parts of the opening half as Forentina looked the better side in terms of possessions and chances created.
Lookmam who was favoured to start the attack for Atalanta alongside Luis Muriel and Ederson was not lucky enough to fire his side into lead in the first half despite having two shots on target.
Coach Giampaolo Gasperini would the tweaked the Atalanta formation a bit in the restart which added more bite and purpose for his side.
It would then paid off with 15 minutes left in the second half when the Lookman raced forward to finished a delivery from Muriel with a simple tap in past the Fiorentina keeper.
Lookman’s 59th minute goal would the sealed the victory for Atalanta and moved them to joint top of the Serie A table, same points (20) with Napoli.
The Super Eagles forward has now scored two goals in his eight Serie A games, already a third of those scored in the 26 Premier League games for Leicester in the 2021/22 (six goals).
