NWFL Premiership: Moses Aduku aims to replicate title winning feat with Edo Queens

By Wale Mustapha
Moses Aduku, the head coach of Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL Premiership side, Edo Queens has set sight on making history with the Benin based side by winning the title in the ongoing season.
Aduku, who joined Edo Queens at the start of current campaign after guiding Bayelsa Queens to win the women’s league title last season is poised to build another formidable winning team with the Benin side.
Two first half goals from Rebecca Ajimuda helped Edo Queens go five points clear of the Group B table putting them in good stead for the playoffs after a commanding 2-0 at Ibom Angels in Uyo.
And the assistant Nigeria U20 women’s national team coach is full of praise for his ladies, while assuring they will take their campaign one game at a time in quest to claim the title.
“Well we thank God for this victory, it can only be God. It was a good outing for us, we had our chances and took them,” Aduku told media.
“I know we were coming to face tough challenge because for a team to loose at home means that they would come into their next home game with vigour and determination. So I actually expected a tough game.
“This is just the fifth game of the new season, it is not enough to write off any side, for Ibom Angels, they also tried. They are not a push over side they gave us a good fight. Now that this match has come and gone, we are going back to our base to prepare for the next game.
“I left Bayelsa State for Edo because I wanted a new challenge. My dream is to take Edo Queens to the stage where I took Bayelsa Queens. I want to achieve results, so we are working very hard to ensure we meet our target.”
With this second away victory, Edo Queens now have 12 points from five games, while Nasarawa Amazons and Abia Angels have 7 points each.
The Benin based side will host Abia Angels next Wednesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City for Matchday 6.
