Timipriye Teibowei reveals Bayelsa United’s NPFL plan for improved second stanza

Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United Timipriye Teibowei has disclosed his team’s plans to have a more formidable team in before the second round of ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The Restoration Boys gained promotion back to the NPFL in 2022 but had endured a forgettable start to life in the first round of their topflight campaign following a disappointing 2-2 draw against Rivers United in Yenagoa .
To compound their woes, the 2021 Aiteo Cup champions also faced points’ deduction as a result of fans’ violence in one of their home games and Coach Teibowei believes there is need to fortify team ahead of the season stanza.
“Definitely we need to fortify this team and we have been making plans to make that happen, we need to that in key areas we have identified,” the manager told media.
“We need few players to beef up the team, hopefully we’ll get them and believe they make us stronger going forward.”
Talking about how his team fared against Rivers United, the former Nigerian intentional said it was a fair result giving the qualities of his opponent just as he hailed his boys for their fighting spirit.
“As you know Rivers United are defending champions and coming to play in Yenagoa we expect a difficult game and it played out as that,” he continued.
“We expect to claim the three points, but the moment they scored first, we had to chase and try to come back, and they scored another one, but at least we fought with all we could and we got s draw. It was a balanced game, the boys did played well.
Bayelsa United are current eight on the log of Group B with just eight points.
