Former Nigerian International, Abiodun Obafemi has charged the Flying Eagles to go all out and pick another three points as they did against Egypt.
Nigeria U-20 team bounced back from its opening day defeat to edge host, Egypt 1-0 on Wednesday with Solomon Agbalaka’s powerful header.
Ladan Bosso’s side will have to avoid defeat on Friday against Mozambique in the final Group A encounter to make it to the quarter-final which Obafemi is advising the team to go for victory and not rely on a draw.
“They must go for a win. The team shouldn’t go for a draw knowing that a draw will see them through to the next round.” Obafemi told Brila FM.
“If I were their coach, I will advise them to be proactive and not reactive by taking the game to the Mozambicans. An early goal will really give them confidence.”
The Nigeria U20 men’s team lost narrowly to the Junior Teranga Lions of Senegal 0-1 in the opening game on Sunday before Wednesday’s win over Egypt.
The Flying Eagles boast of a rich pedigree in the competition with seven titles to their name.
Meanwhile, the scribe of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr. Mohammed Sanusi has revealed that talks back home criticizing, charging, and expecting the Flying Eagles to deliver were sent to Egypt.
“We made them understand that a lot of Nigerians were not happy and they promised to make Nigerians proud. They should put that in their mind ahead of the next match. It’s not over until it’s over,” Sanusi told the team.
