John Ogu speaks on Victor Osimhen-Ademola Lookman Serie A goalscoring challenge

Nigeria International John Ogu has opened up on his impression about the goalscoring challenge between striking duo of Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen in the Italian Serie A this season.

Osimhen has now 20 goals and four assists in 24 appearances across all competitions for Napoli and was challenged by Atalanta’s Lookman who predicted that he would outscore his compatriot in the Serie A.

Lookman has 14 goals and 5 assists overall for Atalanta this season and sits third on the League topscorer chart behind the Parthenopean forward and Inter Milan’s Martinez.

Recently, Osimhen broke Gonzalo Higuain’s Napoli record and won the player of the month for January as he is currently six goals ahead of Ademola Lookman, who has 12 league goals.

However, Ogu recounts his excitement over the challenge posed by the Atalanta forward to the Napoli forward to score more goals in the Italian top-flight.

“Loved how Lookman gingered Victor when he was asked about scoring more than him. Since that day, Victor can’t stop scoring,” Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa midfielder wrote on Twitter.
