Genk blow as Nigeria striker Tolu Arokodare suffers injury in win over Oostende

Nigeria forward Tolu Arokodare suffered a kneel injury as his Belgian Jupiler Pro League side, KRC Genk earned a 3-0 win over Oostende on Saturday.
The former Amiens forward who arrived at Cegeka Arena on transfer deadline day as Paul Onuachu’s replacement after the latter’s departure for Southampton scored on his debut game.
The Box2Box FC product was replaced in the 12th minute of the game by Tanzanian Mbwana Samatta and his replacement doubled Genk’s lead in the 41st minute.
Daniel Munoz had opened the scoring for Genk in the ninth minute while Joseph Paintsil made it 3-0 and Genk coach Wouter Vrancken gave an update on the injury.
“Tolu had kneel problem, but it wouldn’t be a cruciate ligament injury,” he disclosed.
Genk topped the Belgian top league log with 66 points and had a ten points lead over second-placed Royal Union SG.
Arokodare joined Genk from French Ligue 2 side, Amiens and has played for Valmemoera and FC Koln in the German Bundesliga.
