FIFAWWC: Super Falcons to face two Women’s World Cup campaigners in Turkey

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team will face two 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup campaigners during the upcoming camp in Turkey in April, NigeriaFootball.ng can exclusively confirm.
The nine-time African champions will tackle Women’s World Cup debutants Haiti and competition’s co-host New Zealand in a three international friendlies at the Mardan Sports Complex, Antalya next month.
The Haitian Federation had earlier confirmed the test games with the Super Falcons and Panama, while the New Zealand Football announced its build up games with the West Africans and Haiti for April fixtures.
New Zealand are facing a patch of bad form after eight games without a win since a 2-1 win over The Philippines in an international friendly match on September 7, 2022.
Haiti on the other hand, are on a bright run of form after defeating Senegal (4-0) and Chile 2-1 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Playoff tournament to book a place at the global finals for the first time in their history.
In February, the Super Falcons competed in the maiden Revelation Cup in Mexico, where they lost to Mexico and Colombia before ending its seven-match winless streak with a 1-0 win over Costa Rica.
Before the win over the Women’s World Cup-bound Costa Ricans, Nigeria had endured a losing streak of seven games against Morocco, Zambia, the USA (twice), Japan, Mexico, and Colombia respectively.
In April, Randy Waldrum’s side will face World Cup-bound debutants Haiti on April 7 in Antalya before another showdown with the Ferns four days later at the Mardan Sports Complex.
The set of games are expected to further put the Nigerians in better shape ahead of the campaign at the global showpiece, where they will face with co-host, Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland in the group stage.
