Fifa U20 World Cup: Ladan Bosso confident of Nigeria’s chances against Italy

By Wale Mustapha
Head coach of the Nigeria U20 men’s side Ladan Bosso, he would not be engross with how Italy’s mesmerizing moves but assures they will take the game to them in full throttle.
The two teams will face off in the second match of group stage where a place in the next round is at stake for eventual winner of the match.
While the Flying Eagles came back from a goal down to beat Dominican Republic 2-1 in the opening match, the young Azurris’ held on to defeat Brazil 3-2.
“We stayed back after our match against the Dominican Republic to watch the Italy match against Brazil, and we took a lot of notes from there,” Bosso told media at the pre-match press conference.
“The Italians have the midfield machinery to outrun any team that is flustered by their pace and organization, but we will know how to deal with that.
“We have the boys who can neutralize their mortal armoury and deliver some blows of our own. Wednesday’s encounter will be interesting. We will respect them but we don’t fear any team at this championship.
“Our mantra is full concentration and once we achieve that and follow through with our game-plan, we will get a result.”
The Italians top Group D ahead of the Flying Eagles only as a result of having scored more goals, and the race to the Round of 16 is already fierce with Brazil most likely to edge the Dominican Republic in the other match of the pool on Wednesday evening.
