2026 WCQ: Tijani Babangida urges Super Eagles to underrate no team

Tijani Babangida has urged Nigeria not to underrate any team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria will be contesting for another appearance on the global stage in group C of the World Cup qualifiers with Lesotho, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Benin Republic.
The Former international, confessed the Super Eagles are in a tough draw group but he’s adamant that the nation will qualify, and further advised Nigeria to take all matches seriously.
“This is a tough draw for the Nigeria but I still believe the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Facing difficult opponents like South Africa, Benin Republic, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Rwanda in Group C even makes it more tougher,” Babangida told Complete Sports.
“However, I will advise the Super Eagles not to pay attention on South Africa and Benin alone because the other teams are capable of acting as spoiler if not taking seriously.”
The Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after loosing out on the away goal rule against archrival Ghana.
