Chinwendu Ihezuo nets second goal as Monterrey seal win over Cruz Azul

Nigeria forward, Chinwendu Ihezuo scored her second league goal of the campaign as Mexican Liga MX Women Apertura side, Monterrey sealed a 3-0 win over Cruz Azul in Matchday five league encounter on Saturday.
Monterrey has won three of their previous five games while Cruz Azul has won three and lost two on their last five.
Diana Elizabeth Anguiano Diaz scored the first goal of the game for the visitors in the 16th minute in an unfortunate manner as she put the ball into her net.
Three minutes later, Carlee Giammona doubled the lead for Monterrey to give her team a comfortable halftime lead.
Ihezuo wrapped up the goals with her team’s third goal in the additional minutes of the first half.
She saw 59 minutes of action before Daniela Solis replaced her after scoring her second league goal of the 2023/2024 season.
The win evened Monterrey’s points haul with UANL Tigres at the top of the table as the top two teams have 13 points each after five games.
Monterrey will next face Guadalajara Chivas in another league encounter on August 18.
