Sone Aluko Eyes Consecutive Triumphs as Reading Faces Derby County

Nigerian forward Sone Aluko is buoyant about Reading’s prospects as they prepare to take on Derby County at Pride Park on Saturday, following their noteworthy victory against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday in the English Championship.
After consecutive setbacks against Sheffield United and Middlesbrough, Reading staged a commendable return to form with a 3-1 triumph over Nottingham Forest. Aluko, who scored the third goal in that encounter, believes his team can secure back-to-back victories against Derby County, despite the latter sitting fifth in the Championship table.
In an interview with readingfc.co.uk, Aluko acknowledged the challenges but expressed confidence in Reading’s ability to execute their game plan and secure another crucial win before the international break.
“It’s another very hard game – we always talk about how tough every game is, especially this season. We have to work hard for the points… nothing is given to you; you have to earn every one,” Aluko remarked.
Reflecting on the recent win against Forest, Aluko emphasized the significance of the victory, considering the frustrations stemming from a series of poor results. He praised the team’s all-round performance and highlighted the importance of scoring first, providing a solid foundation to build upon.
“We scored first, which is crucial… it gives us something to build on and it means that they have to come out and try to score, which suits our play,” Aluko explained. He attributed the success to their collective effort, intensified pressing, and an improved overall intensity.
As Reading aims for consecutive wins, Aluko emphasized the team’s dedication to executing their strategies effectively. The victory against Forest served as a confidence-booster, instilling a positive outlook for the upcoming challenge against Derby County.
