Ahmed Musa Returns to CSKA Moscow on Loan from Leicester City

Nigerian winger Ahmed Musa has completed a loan move from Leicester City to Russian club CSKA Moscow for the remainder of the 2017/18 season, as confirmed by both clubs.

CSKA Moscow announced the agreement on Tuesday via their official Twitter handle, expressing their delight at Musa’s return: “PFC CSKA and Leicester City agreed the loan of Ahmed Musa today until the end of the 2017/18 season. Ahmed will be included in the Red Blues’ squad list for the national league and the UEFA Europa League knockout stage. Welcome back, Ahmed.”

This marks Musa’s second stint with CSKA Moscow, having previously played for the club from 2012 to 2016. The 25-year-old departed for Leicester City in a high-profile transfer last season but struggled to secure a regular place in the lineup.

Musa faced a challenging start to the current Premier League campaign, failing to make a single appearance for the Foxes. His playing time was limited to a single outing in the Carabao Cup. The loan move to CSKA Moscow provides Musa with an opportunity to revive his career and increase his chances of representing Nigeria in the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

CSKA Moscow has included Musa in their squad list for both the national league and the UEFA Europa League knockout stage, anticipating a significant contribution from the talented winger during his loan spell
