ABS FC unveils strategic partnership agreement with Sports Flames Communications

Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC has officially unveiled Sports Flames Communications as its Strategic Marketing Partner following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Taiwo Awoniyi Media Centre, George Innih Stadium, Ilorin.

The partnership marks a significant step in the club’s commitment to strengthening its professional structure, enhancing its brand visibility, attracting sponsorship opportunities, and deepening engagement with supporters.

Speaking during the event, Director of Football of ABS Ilorin FC, Chief Alloy Chuwuemeka, described the partnership as a key milestone in the club’s growth strategy.

“This is one of the key events we will be having to ensure that ABS FC is run in a professional manner. Today, we are bringing in partners, Sports Flames Communications, who are ready to join us in the business of football.”

Chief Chuwuemeka highlighted ABS FC’s rich history as one of Nigeria’s foremost talent-development clubs, noting that the club has consistently produced players who have excelled both domestically and internationally.

He referenced notable ABS products such as Kunle Olusegun, currently playing in Russia, Gata Mubarak in Greece, and David Okoromi in the Czech Republic, while also celebrating the achievements of Super Eagles stars Benjamin Frederick and Olusegun, who emerged through the club’s development structure.

According to him, the foundation established by former Senate President and club proprietor, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has enabled ABS FC to remain one of Nigeria’s leading football development institutions.

“It is this structure established by His Excellency, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, that has nurtured all these talents and continues to nurture more. I call on all relevant stakeholders in the football industry to work with us so that this dream of taking players to greater heights will continue uninterrupted.”

Chief Chuwuemeka expressed confidence that the collaboration with Sports Flames Communications would help elevate the club’s operations and position ABS FC for greater success both on and off the pitch.

Also speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of Sports Flames Communications, Olawale Olatoye, praised ABS FC for its consistency and resilience over more than two decades as one of Nigeria’s most respected privately-owned football clubs.

“ABS has demonstrated quality over the years. Those of us in football understand how difficult it is to sustain a club and consistently produce players for the national team. ABS has done exactly that.”

Olatoye commended the club’s impressive record of talent development, citing players such as Benjamin Frederick, Olakunle Olusegun, Issah Gata, Mubarak Adekunle, Ernest Governor, David Okoromi and several others who have progressed to professional careers.

He described ABS FC as a club built on structure, vision, and player development, factors that influenced Sports Flames Communications’ decision to partner with the club.

“This is a team with structure. This is a team that understands development. If we align, we can achieve great things.”

The Sports Flames CEO assured stakeholders that while success would require dedication and patience, the partnership was built on a clear strategy designed to take ABS FC to greater heights.

“We are not promising that it will come easily, but we are promising that we will be successful. Sports Flames already has its strategy and template. We are simply joining forces with ABS FC to help the club reach greater heights.”

The partnership is expected to focus on marketing, sponsorship acquisition, media promotion, fan engagement, strategic communications, and the professional organization of club activities as ABS FC continues its quest to return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Sports Flames Communications is a Sports Marketing, Media Promotions, and Strategic Communications company dedicated to advancing sports brands, athletes, and organizations through innovative communication and commercial strategies.
