Wilfred Ndidi’s Performance Deemed Average as Leicester Secures Victory Over Brighton

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi received an average rating for his performance in the Foxes’ 2-0 away triumph against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday. The assessment, conducted by Leicester Mercury, scrutinized each player’s contribution, with Ndidi earning a modest score of five out of 10. His match concluded on a less positive note as he received a second yellow card for a foul on Shane Duffy, leading to his expulsion in the 87th minute.
The Leicester Mercury analysis noted, “Like Iborra, he was guilty of wastefulness in possession and gave away the penalty. Shown a second yellow to add to his woes.”
In contrast, goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, pivotal in denying Brighton the lead by stopping Glenn Murray’s penalty in the 77th minute, received a commendable rating of eight, sharing the top spot with Harry Maguire. Leicester’s goal scorers, Vicente Iborra and Jamie Vardy, earned scores of seven each.
Defenders Danny Simpson and Wes Morgan were awarded a score of six, while Riyad Mahrez and Marc Albrighton received an average rating of five.
Despite Ndidi’s mixed performance on the club front, he featured prominently for the Super Eagles in their recent international friendlies against Poland and Serbia, showcasing his versatility and commitment on the field. As Leicester continues its campaign in the Premier League, Ndidi’s contributions will be crucial in maintaining the team’s momentum.
