Coached by Justine Madugu, the Super Falcons remain ahead of 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) champions South Africa in the continental standings.
South Africa’s Banyana Banyana climbed one place to 57th position after securing an impressive international friendly victory over Japan.
Ghana dropped one spot to 60th, while Morocco, runners-up in the last two WAFCON tournaments, slipped two places to 64th.
Zambia also fell one position to 65th, with Cameroon occupying 71st place.
Completing the top 10 African teams in the rankings are Côte d’Ivoire (72nd), Algeria (74th), Senegal (79th), and Mali (84th).
FIFA is expected to release its next Women’s World Rankings on October 20, 2026.
