Akor Adams: Venezia close in on €23.5m deal for Super Eagles striker

Super Eagles forward Akor Adams is on the verge of a move to Serie A club Venezia in a deal that could be worth up to €23.5m to Sevilla, as the Italian side accelerate plans for the 2026-27 season.

The Nigeria international is expected to travel to Italy in the coming days to undergo a medical and finalise paperwork, with only formalities believed to be standing between the 24-year-old and a long-term contract at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.

Adams, who joined Sevilla from Montpellier, is set to sign a four-year deal that would keep him at Venezia until the summer of 2030, according to Spanish outlet Futbol Fantasy.

Medical and formalities ahead of move

Reports in Spain and Italy say Venezia have been tracking Adams since the summer transfer window opened and have now reached an agreement with the player.

Futbol Fantasy reports that the Nigerian forward is scheduled to fly to Italy for his medical tests before the transfer is officially announced.

Adams was left out of Sevilla’s pre-season squad for their training camp in Poland, with the decision said to be by mutual consent. Both club and player were keen to avoid any injury risk while negotiations with Venezia were being concluded.

The omission from the tour has been interpreted in Spain as a clear indication that Sevilla were preparing for his departure and prioritising the completion of the transfer.

Financial boost for Sevilla

The deal is expected to hand Sevilla a significant financial boost as they continue efforts to stabilise their accounts ahead of the 2026-27 La Liga campaign.
