Official: 2024 NWFL Premiership Best Player joins Turkish champions Fenerbahce

Turkish Women’s Super League champions Fenerbahce have announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder Abideen Suliat Olajumoke, the club confirmed in a statement on its official website.

The 24-year-old joins the Istanbul giants from fellow Turkish top-flight side ABB Fomget GSK and has signed a contract that will keep her at the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Abideen is expected to feature for Fenerbahce in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League as the Yellow Canaries begin their quest for a place in Europe’s premier club competition.

She also becomes the latest Nigerian to represent Fenerbahce, joining compatriots Regina Otu and Flourish Sabastine, who played key roles in helping the club reclaim the Turkish Women’s Super League title last season.

The move marks another significant step in Abideen’s impressive career after establishing herself as one of Nigeria’s finest midfielders during her time with Edo Queens.

Her outstanding performances helped Edo Queens win the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership title in 2024, earning her the league’s Most Valuable Player award.

She also etched her name into the club’s history by scoring the winning goal in the final of the WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers, securing Edo Queens’ qualification for the continental tournament.

Following her move to Turkey, Abideen continued to impress with ABB Fomget GSK, where she scored 15 goals in 41 league appearances.

Known for her versatility, work rate, ball progression and combative style in midfield, Abideen has developed into one of the standout performers in the Turkish Women’s Super League and will now look to make a similar impact with Fenerbahce both domestically and in Europe.
