Ampem Darkoa Edge ASEC Mimosas in WAFU-B Champions League Qualifiers Opener
Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa began their 2026 WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifying campaign on a winning note after defeating ASEC Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire 1-0.
Gloria Adomako scored the decisive goal in the 29th minute to hand Ampem Darkoa all three points in the opening Group B fixture.
ASEC Mimosas, who have lost several key players from last year’s squad, were unable to reproduce their previous campaign’s strong performances as they suffered defeat in their opening match.
The Ghanaian champions held on to their narrow advantage to secure a valuable victory and make a positive start to their quest for qualification for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Both Ampem Darkoa and ASEC Mimosas will face Nigerian champions Edo Queens in their remaining group matches as the battle for progression from the group intensifies.
