West Brom close in on £4.3m deal for Nigeria-eligible winger Kareem Tunde

West Bromwich Albion are reportedly close to signing Levante forward Kareem Tunde in a deal that could be worth £4.3m, approximately ₦7.9bn, according to reports in the Spanish and English media.
Sky Sports UK says the Championship club are nearing an agreement for the Barcelona-born Nigerian, who is a left-footed winger.
West Brom and Levante have reportedly reached an agreement at club level for the transfer of the highly rated 21-year-old. The proposed deal is understood to include an initial fee of £2.6m, with a further £1.7m available in performance-related add-ons.
One of those potential bonuses is linked to West Brom securing promotion to the Premier League.
Tunde’s omission from Levante’s matchday squad for their Monday evening game against Osasuna has added to speculation that he could soon leave the Spanish club. The absence was seen as a further indication that the transfer is close to being completed.
He remains under contract with Levante until the end of the 2028-29 season, having agreed an extension with the club in March 2026.
Tunde has not yet played senior international football for either Nigeria or Spain. He can represent the Super Eagles through his father, while his Spanish mother also gives him eligibility to play for Spain, the reigning world champions.
The versatile attacker began his career at Sant Andreu before joining Espanyol. He subsequently spent time with Barcelona, Damm and Levante, where he eventually established himself in the first team.
Last season, Tunde made 21 appearances for Levante in La Liga and also played in the Copa del Rey, making his debut in the competition.
A move to West Brom would give the forward the opportunity to continue his development in the English game, while the promotion-related clause would provide an additional incentive for the Championship club.
The reported agreement would see Levante receive a guaranteed £2.6m, with the total fee rising if Tunde and West Brom meet the conditions attached to the add-ons.
Tunde’s ability to play on the left side of attack and his preference for his left foot are understood to have made him an attractive target for the Baggies. The deal remains subject to its completion, but the reported agreement between the two clubs suggests the transfer is at an advanced stage.
The move would also bring an end to Tunde’s latest spell with Levante, where he progressed through the club’s set-up before earning a place in the senior squad. His contract had been due to run until 2029 after the extension signed in March.
No senior international decision has yet been made by the player. He remains eligible for both Nigeria and Spain, meaning his international future is still open.
