Ayuba Dumwe Rewards Nasarawa Amazons with ₦200,000 After Impressive NWFL Campaign

Former House of Representatives aspirant, Barr. David Ayuba Dumwe (DAD), has demonstrated remarkable patriotism and commitment to sports development by supporting Nasarawa Amazons during their final match of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.

Barr. Dumwe, who said it was his responsibility to stand behind his home-state team, commended the players for their resilience and determination throughout the encounter, despite the match ending in a draw.

In recognition of their outstanding effort and to encourage them after a demanding season, the legal practitioner presented the team with a cash reward of ₦200,000.

Addressing the players after the match, Barr. Dumwe praised their performance, noting that they exceeded his expectations. He encouraged the team to remain focused and never lose hope, stressing that dedication, perseverance, and hard work often lead to greater achievements.

He also wished the players and officials a safe journey back to Lafia as they prepare for their next challenge.

Responding on behalf of the team, Chairperson of Nasarawa Amazons, Hajiya Husseina Suleiman Nagogo, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Barr. Dumwe for the generous gesture. She described him as a true ambassador of Nasarawa State who has consistently shown support for initiatives that promote the state’s image and pride.

At the end of the 2025/2026 NWFL Premiership season, Nasarawa Amazons secured a third-place finish on the league table, while Edo Queens emerged as champions.

With the league campaign now concluded, the Amazons will turn their attention to the 2026 President’s Federation Cup, where they are set to face newly crowned league champions Edo Queens in a highly anticipated quarter-final showdown in Anyigba.
