Bendel Insurance confident of ending Rivers United’s unbeaten NPFL run

Bendel Insurance are confident they can end Rivers United’s unbeaten start to the Nigeria Professional Football League season when the sides meet at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday.

Rivers United are the only team in the league yet to taste defeat this season, but Bendel Insurance believe their strong home record can bring that run to an end.

The Benin Arsenal have already shown their ability to overcome unbeaten opposition at home this campaign, ending Barau FC’s undefeated record at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. Club media officer Kehinde Osagiede says the team is ready to produce a similar result against Rivers United.

Osagiede said the Bendel Insurance players were in high spirits and determined to claim all three points in the contest.

“Yes, I expect a tough encounter against a Rivers United side that has remained unbeaten in the league,” Osagiede told Completesports.com.

“For us, that is not news because we defeated Barau FC here at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium when they were also unbeaten in the league.”

Bendel Insurance’s home support will also be central to their plans, with Osagiede calling on the club’s fans to create the atmosphere needed to help the hosts overcome the league’s only unbeaten side.

“Our priority is to play a good game and get the massive support from our fans that will subdue Rivers United on match day,” he added.
