Martinelli helps Watkins become Roshn Saudi League’s leading assist provider

Gabriel Martinelli set up a landmark moment for his Al Hilal team-mate Ollie Watkins as Al Hilal beat Al-Qadsiah in the Roshn Saudi League on Friday.
Al Hilal were the visitors at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam for the 11th round of the competition, with Martinelli opening the scoring in the 21st minute.
The Brazil forward finished a low cross from Watkins to give Al Hilal the lead. The goal was Martinelli’s sixth in the Roshn Saudi League this season and his fourth consecutive match with a goal in the competition.
The assist also moved Watkins to the top of the league’s assist standings. The England striker now has five assists this season, putting him ahead of several players who have created four goals.
Among those on four assists are Joao Felix of Al Nassr, Fath winger Mourad Batna and Al-Qadsiah full-back Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat.
Watkins has made an immediate impact since joining Al Hilal during the summer transfer window from Aston Villa. He has played eight matches for the club, contributing to 10 goals in total, with five goals and five assists.
