Head Coach of Rivers United, Evans Ogenyi believed his side has the quality to beat Dreams FC with needed margin to secure passage to knockout stage of CAF Confederation Cup.
The Pride of Rivers will be taking on their Ghanaian counterpart in the final group stage game scheduled for Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
Ogenyi who was spending to newsmen ahead of the match played down the talk of his team being under pressure adding that the boys are motivated enough to make both Rivers State and Nigeria proud.
We are not in any way under pressure because we know it’s not insurmountable. It is very possible. We went over here (in Ghana), we lost to them 2-1. We know we have a responsibility to the people of Rivers State and Nigeria in its entirety,”
“So we know what is at stake and I believe the moves we have made, it is very possible that Rivers United on behalf of Nigeria will qualify,” Ogenyi said.
River United are third on the log with nine points while Dreams FC are top of Group C log with 12 points.
