Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers has dismissed speculation over a potential summer exit from Rangers, insisting he remains committed to the Scottish Premiership club despite interest from multiple suitors.
The 30-year-old forward has been a standout performer for the Light Blues, netting 29 goals and registering seven assists in 55 appearances during the 2024/25 season.
Dessers, who came close to departing Ibrox in January after briefly losing his starting spot to Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane, confirmed that he intends to stay at the club.
“With my statistics, it is normal that there is interest,” Dessers told the Scottish media, as reported by VoetbalKrant.
“I still have two years of contract with a fantastic club like Rangers. I don’t have to leave.”
The Super Eagles international has been linked with clubs across Europe and beyond, but his statement appears to put an end to mounting exit rumors—at least for now.
Dessers joined Rangers in 2023 and has quickly become a fan favourite with his goal-scoring prowess and work rate.
He remains a key part of the club’s plans as they prepare for the 2025/26 campaign.
