Davido and Asa Asika become co-owners of NPFL club Inter Lagos

Afrobeats star Davido and his long-time manager, Asa Asika, have confirmed that they jointly own a stake in Nigeria Premier Football League club Inter Lagos.
Asika disclosed the partnership while speaking on theManager’s Playbook podcast, where he discussed the pair’s business interests beyond the music industry.
“We [Davido and I] own a football team in Nigeria together. We just got promoted to the Premier League. It is called Inter Lagos,” Asika said.
Inter Lagos secured promotion from the Nigeria National League into the NPFL, the top tier of Nigerian football.
The club’s first experience in the top flight has proved difficult. Inter Lagos are 19th in the table after collecting four points from their opening six matches of the season.
Asika said the club forms part of a wider business plan covering music, sport and lifestyle. He added that the project was being developed with long-term sustainability in mind, rather than as a way of seeking quick financial returns.
He compared that approach with the gradual expansion of their presence in the music industry, suggesting that building the football venture would also require patience.
