Eddington Kuejubola prescribes coaching tonic for Super Falcons

Proprietor of defunct Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side, Ufuoma Babes’s Elder Eddington Kuejubola has given the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) a solid advice on who to appoint as the new coach of Nigeria senior women’s national team.
News went round this week that coach Randy Waldrum has resigned his position as the team’s Head Coach.
In an exclusive interview with NigeriaFootball, a source with the Federation said the contract of the American coach expired after the Paris 2024 Olympics debunking rumours of his resignation.
With the nine-time Africa champions having ample time to shop for a new coach, the women’s football enthusiast and one of the pioneers of the game in Nigeria advised the NFF to look inward.
“I am not a subscriber of foreign coach of Waldrum calibre. He has a full time job elsewhere and also took up the Super Falcons duty,” Kuejubola told www.nigeriafootball.ng
“If the NFF can look inward, they will see that Nigeria coaches perform well with the Super Falcons. They have won laurels. I don’t know why they are not doing that.
“I don’t subscribe to foreign coach for any of our teams whether male or female.”
While making reference to Rena Wakama who guided the Nigerian senior women’s basketball team to the quarter final at the Paris 2024 Olympics, the best by any African team men or women, Kuejubola opined that Nigerian coaches can offer the Super Falcons the best at upcoming tournaments.
“Look at what a Nigerian coach did for the basketball team at the last Olympics,” he continues.
“If Nigerians are doing so well in other countries why do we believe that only foreign coaches can be the best for us?
Waldrum’s assistant, Justine Madugu is expected to take charge of the team pending the appointment a substantial manager.
