Etebo Navigates Impending CD Feirense Departure, Eyes Stellar World Cup Performance

Portuguese football club CD Feirense is poised to part ways with Nigerian midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo following the conclusion of his loan spell with Spain’s La Liga side, Las Palmas, according to reports from Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN).

Etebo’s six-month loan move to Malaga from CD Feirense in January has proven to be a pivotal chapter in the player’s career, as he showcased his prowess on the field, securing a regular spot in the lineup for the struggling La Liga team facing relegation.

Amidst his success in Spain, Etebo is now at the center of transfer speculation, with several Spanish clubs expressing interest in securing his services for the upcoming season. A representative of the 22-year-old midfielder disclosed to CSN, “There are offers from teams in Spain who want him for next season, but hopefully, his club (CD Feirense) will agree to terms in July.”

The representative further explained, “We are studying the proposals, but certainly, a good performance at the World Cup will make his demand higher.”

Etebo, who has made a notable impact during his 13 La Liga appearances, contributing with one assist since his arrival at Las Palmas in January, is eager to leverage his talent on the global stage. As he sets his sights on the upcoming World Cup, a stellar performance could potentially elevate his standing in the football transfer market, opening new opportunities for the talented Nigerian midfielder.
