Harry Kane shuts door on Al Hilal move as Bayern Munich star prepares new deal

Harry Kane has ended speculation over a blockbuster move to Saudi Arabia by deciding to stay at Bayern Munich and renew his contract, dealing a fresh blow to Al Hilal’s plans in the summer transfer market.

The Saudi Pro League club had explored a move for the England captain in recent weeks, entering into informal discussions with the striker and his representatives. Al Hilal had hoped to take advantage of Kane’s ongoing talks with Bayern over an extension to his current deal, aiming to tempt him with a new challenge in the Saudi Pro League with “Al Zaeem”.

However, according to British journalist Ben Jacobs, Kane has now made a definitive decision to remain at Bayern Munich and is preparing to sign a new contract with the Bundesliga giants. That stance effectively shuts the door on Al Hilal and any other clubs who had been monitoring his situation.

Jacobs also reported that the 30-year-old has no intention of returning to the Premier League at this stage of his career. Instead, Kane is understood to be fully focused on continuing his journey in Germany, driven by a desire to win more trophies with Bayern.

Kane’s commitment to Bayern is particularly painful for Al Hilal, as it represents the latest in a series of setbacks in their attempts to lure him to Saudi Arabia. The club have already seen two previous approaches for the former Tottenham forward rejected, despite putting lucrative financial packages on the table.

Bayern, for their part, were always keen to retain their star striker after a remarkable campaign in which he delivered elite numbers in front of goal. Kane scored 36 goals in 31 matches and added five assists, playing a decisive role in the club’s successful defence of the Bundesliga title.

That level of performance has reinforced Bayern’s determination to build around him in the coming seasons, and his decision to stay aligns with the club’s long-term plans.

For Al Hilal, the outcome means one of their most ambitious targets is now out of reach, at least for the foreseeable future, forcing the Riyadh club to consider alternative options as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season in the Saudi Pro League.
