Harry Kane’s £1m Rolex steals attention at Ballon d’Or ceremony

Harry Kane’s historic Ballon d’Or triumph was accompanied by an equally eye-catching detail on Monday evening, as the Bayern Munich forward arrived at London’s Palladium wearing a rare Rolex watch valued at about £1m.

The England captain attended the 2026 ceremony with his wife, Katie Goodland, wearing a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona made from blue sapphire. The luxury Swiss brand’s model is regarded as one of its rarest and most expensive designs.

According to French website Foot Mercato, citing British newspaper The Sun, the watch is worth approximately £1m – around €1.15m. Its distinctive design includes a meteorite dial and a bezel set with blue sapphires, making it one of the most notable pieces in Rolex’s luxury collection.

The watch, however, formed only part of a landmark night for Kane.

The Bayern Munich striker won the Ballon d’Or for the first time in his career, becoming the first English player to receive the award since Michael Owen in 2001.

Kane also collected the Gerd Muller Trophy, which recognises the leading forwards, adding another honour in recognition of his goalscoring ability and attacking influence.

His success meant the evening combined personal achievement with an appearance that attracted considerable attention. Kane’s first Ballon d’Or represents a significant milestone in a career that has seen him establish himself among the leading players in world football.

The ceremony therefore marked more than a showcase of luxury. For Kane, it was the night he moved from being a striker continuing to build his reputation among the game’s elite to a player at the centre of one of football’s most prominent global events.
