Nigerian rapper Remilekun Khalid Safaru believes Erling Haaland was more deserving of the Player of the Year award at the 2023 Ballon d’Or gala.
The ‘King of Boys’ actor, who is also popularly known by his stage name ‘Reminisce is a big loyal fan of Al Nassr and former Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo and he vehemently believes that Messi was not the rightful winner of the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
Although, Lionel Messi’s eighth Ballon d’Or has continued to be a source of controversy among football fans, especially the CR7 fans.
‘Baba Afusa’, as he is also known, was speaking on the Zero Conditions podcast as part of the press run for his new album Alaye To Se Go Go (ATSG Vol. 1), where, other than music, he discussed his other passion, football.
“He [Messi] didn’t win anything, he was gifted, everybody knows this.” The Nigerian artist continued: “I said this last year, Cristiano Ronaldo is the one true GOAT, Lionel Messi is FIFA’s creation.”
