Ifeoma Onumonu breaks goal duck in Montpellier’s big win over Guigamp

Nigeria forward, Ifeoma Onumonu scored her first ever goal for Montpellier during a 7-0 thrashing of Guigamp in the French women’s topflight encounter on Saturday.
From Oceane Deslandes’ assist, the former Gotham FC star broke the deadlock for the host in the ninth minute at the Stade Bernard Gasset Terrain.
Cameroon’s Nina Ngueleu doubled the advantage for Montpellier in the half hour mark.
Lea Khelifi bagged a brace in the 38th and 41st minute respectively to make it 4-0.
Former Utah Royals forward Onumonu set up her African sister, Ngueleu for the fifth goal.
Goals from Kethna Louis and Rose Kadzere sealed the comprehensive win.
Onumonu was replaced by Kadzere in the 70th minute after scoring her first goal for her team and also bagging an assist.
Her team now occupy the sixth position with 10 points after six games.
They will face Chiamaka Nnadozie’s Paris FC in their next league encounter on November 9, 2024.
