Ikorodu City and Sporting Lagos draw blank in first NPFL meeting

Ikorodu City and Sporting Lagos played out a goalless draw in the first NPFL meeting between the two Lagos clubs.

The highly anticipated derby was a rescheduled Matchday 2 fixture, but neither side managed to find a breakthrough as they settled for a point apiece.

Ikorodu City added to their league tally after following up their previous outing with another unbeaten result. They had earned an impressive 2–0 victory over defending champions Enugu Rangers in their last league match.

Sporting Lagos could not build on their recent league results, with the two teams cancelling each other out in a closely contested encounter.

The result leaves Ikorodu City with eight points from their opening six matches, before the derby is added to the updated standings.
