Imoh Ezekiel Eager to Shine in the "World's Best League" with Las Palmas Debut Looming

Nigerian forward Imoh Ezekiel is poised to make a significant impact at his new Spanish LaLiga Santander club, Las Palmas, after being unveiled to the fans on Saturday. The talented striker, who recently inked a one-and-a-half-year deal with an option for an additional year, expressed his readiness to contribute to the team’s success.

In a statement to the Spanish media during his unveiling, Ezekiel conveyed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am ready to play, but now it all depends on the coach. I am very happy to have signed at UD Las Palmas; it is a great opportunity for me to play in the best league in the world and against the best players. I will do everything possible to have a good season with UD Las Palmas.”

Ezekiel’s optimism stems from a desire to leave behind the challenges he faced at his previous club, Konyaspor. Reflecting on his time in Turkish football, the Rio 2016 star revealed, “It was difficult for me to adapt to Turkish football; my family was not happy, and that is why we decided to look for another club. Also, I was owed for several months there, which made it more difficult.”

When questioned about contacting former U-23 teammate Oghenekaro Etebo before his move to Las Palmas, the former Standard Liege, Al Arabi SC, and Anderlecht star disclosed, “I have not called him yet; I wanted to surprise him.”

With a potential debut on the horizon, Ezekiel may make his first appearance for Las Palmas when they host Sevilla at the Gran Canaria Stadium next Saturday. Football enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the Nigerian forward’s integration into the squad and the impact he could bring to the esteemed LaLiga Santander.
