Ivan Toney court hearing scheduled 33 hours before Al-Ahli Saudi match

England striker Ivan Toney is due to appear at Southwark Crown Court in London next Thursday as proceedings continue over an allegation that he assaulted a man in a nightclub.

The hearing has been scheduled approximately 33 hours before Al-Ahli Saudi are due to face Al-Shabab in the 12th round of the Saudi Pro League on 30 October 2026.

Toney, who is 30, is accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. It is alleged that he headbutted and punched Saber Da Silva inside a nightclub on Wardour Street in Soho on 6 December last year.

The Al-Ahli Saudi forward previously appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The case was transferred to the Crown Court after Toney chose to have it heard before a judge and jury. District Judge Briony Clarke said the matter could otherwise have been dealt with by the magistrates’ court.

A hearing date of 12:30 BST next Thursday was reported by The Times at the start of October. The timing means it will take place around 33 hours before Al-Ahli Saudi’s league fixture against Al-Shabab at SHG Arena in Riyadh.

Toney has been released on unconditional bail and is required to attend court on the scheduled date as the legal process continues.

The court proceedings come as Al-Ahli Saudi prepare for their next Saudi Pro League fixture against Al-Shabab.
