In a bid to clinch his inaugural major silverware with Shakhtar Donetsk, Nigerian forward Kayode Olanrewaju is gearing up to face arch-rivals Dynamo Kiev in the Ukrainian Cup final at the illustrious Dnipro Arena today, as reported by Completesportsnigeria.com. Celebrating his 25th birthday on May 8, Kayode, currently on loan from English champions Manchester City, is poised to make a significant impact on the grand stage.

The journey to the final saw Kayode contribute decisively, exemplified by his notable goal-scoring performance in Shakhtar’s commanding 5-1 victory over Mariupol during the semi-finals on April 18. After an unfulfilling stint at Spanish club Girona earlier in the season, the former Austria Wien striker sought a fresh start and found a conducive environment with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Having netted three goals in five games across various competitions for Shakhtar, Kayode is determined to contribute to the Miners’ legacy.
