Malawi Appoints Sudesh Singh as Scorchers Technical Adviser ahead of Super Falcons WAFCON encounter

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has appointed Sudesh Singh as technical adviser to the Scorchers ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Singh will join the team’s technical bench alongside head coach Lovemore Fazili and performance analyst Tyrese Steyn as Malawi prepares for its historic debut at the continental tournament.

FAM said the appointment follows a Confederation of African Football (CAF) directive requiring the coach leading a team at WAFCON to possess a CAF A Licence.

While Fazili will retain his role as head coach throughout the competition, Singh will provide technical support and guidance to the coaching staff.

The Scorchers are set to make their maiden appearance at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after securing qualification for the tournament.

Malawi have been drawn in a challenging Group C alongside defending champions Nigeria, regional rivals Zambia, and Egypt.

The Scorchers will kick off their campaign against the Super Falcons in Rabat on Tuesday, 28 July.
