Mohammed Magin urges Niger Tornadoes to build on ‘difficult’ win Over Katsina United

By Wale Mustapha

Niger Tornadoes coach, Mohammed Magin, has called on his players to build on their hard-fought victory over Katsina United and finish the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season on a strong note.

The Ikon Allah Boys secured a slim 1-0 win against the Chanji Boys in the Matchday 29 encounter played in Lafia on Friday.

A first-half volley from Williams Sunday was enough to seal the victory, which marked Niger Tornadoes’ first win at their newly adopted home ground.

Despite the challenging nature of the game, Magin expressed satisfaction with the result, while acknowledging that Katsina United approached the game with a different strategy but remained focused on securing the three points.

“It was a difficult game, but the most important thing is the victory which we were able to achieve,” Magin stated.

The coach also reflected on his team’s ongoing adjustment to playing at the Lafia pitch. After suffering a loss in their first match there, the Tornadoes have now secured a win in their second outing at the venue.

“We will build on this victory and gradually get used to the pitch. Hopefully, by the next game, we will be able to score more goals and continue improving,” Magin added in an interview with Niger Tornadoes media.

With this crucial win, Niger Tornadoes will look to maintain their momentum as they continue their quest to finish the season strong.
