Monsuru Opeyemi: Nigerian midfielder joins Frydek-Mistek from Hlucin

Nigerian attacking midfielder Monsuru Opeyemi has joined Czech side Frydek-Mistek from Hlucin in a completed move ahead of the new MSFL campaign. The 22-year-old, who prefers to operate in the number 10 role, switches between the two clubs in the Czech system after impressing during a short spell at Hlucin.
Opeyemi, born on 11 August 2003 and standing at 1.78m, arrives at Frydek-Mistek having gained experience across several countries and competitions despite his age. He most recently moved to Hlucin in February 2026 from MLS Next Pro outfit Cincinnati 2 on a free transfer, before securing his latest step in Czech football on 23 July 2026.
The right-footed midfielder has built a varied CV in senior and youth football, featuring in Portugal, the United States and now the Czech Republic. His competitive record includes appearances and goals in the MSFL and Liga 3, as well as game time in MLS Next Pro and Liga Portugal, underlining exposure to different playing styles and levels.
Opeyemi’s most productive spells in front of goal have come in lower-tier and youth-focused competitions, where he has registered multiple goals and assists across Liga 3, the Portuguese U-23 leagues and cup tournaments. That output contributed to his progression from youth setups into senior environments in both Europe and North America.
Having previously come through Vizela’s youth structure after leaving Nigerian club B-Angel FC, Opeyemi also spent time on loan at Portuguese side SC Covilha before heading to Cincinnati 2 and then Hlucin. He now continues his career in the Czech Republic with Frydek-Mistek, who have completed his transfer from Hlucin.
